Hotel

Full of character and charm, and all things quinessentially English.

The Priory is a small, luxury, country house hotel in South West Dorset, located on the River Frome in Wareham, near Studland and Poole. The setting is beautifully idyllic, and somewhere where ‘the past is always present’, and where peace and tranquillity prevail. Steeped in history, with open views of the countryside, the hotel is much sought after by those wishing to enjoy the comforts and ambience of a quintessential English country house hotel. The Priory is (we think) the finest, independently owned, hotel in Dorset, and is a member of the highly regarded ‘Pride of Britain’ hotel collection; an exclusive consortium of luxury, privately owned hotels.

The River Terrace

The River Terrace enjoys a picture perfect view over The Main Lawn, River Frome and countryside. It’s an idyllic setting in summertime to while-away-the-time with family and friends; the perfect setting for any occasion. Breakfast and lunch are served ‘al fresco’ on fine, sunny days, as are light snacks, morning coffee and afternoon tea. At sunset, pre-dinner aperitifs are served with dainty, home-made canapés.

Private Functions & Special Occasions – We are happy to serve lunch for guests on The River Terrace (overlooking The Main Lawn), but as this is outdoors, and weather dependent, there must always be the option of being inside; The Garden Room Restaurant (10-28 guests), The Abbots Cellar Restaurant (30-42 guests).
